The electronica Conference 2018 will take place November 13-16 in Munich. Part of this conference is the judging of the yearly COSIMA competition (Competition of Students in Microsystems Applications). Dominique Bouwes of Micronit GmbH will be a member of the jury. We are excited to find out who will be this year’s winner! The winning teams qualify themselves for the international iCAN competition.

The COSIMA 2017 winners, coming from the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT), the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg, the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and Darmstadt Technical University, won stunning first and second prizes at the 2018 iCan Micro Systems competetion. Alltogether, 16 German students competed against teams from China, Japan, Thailand, France, Taiwan, Egypt, Australia and Switzerland.

The team from Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) won a sensational first prize. The students convinced the jury with a compact and intelligent Smartphone-extension that enables the individually adjustable healing of insect bites and herpes vesicles by heat. A second prize went to the team of the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg. This team developed an intelligent bicycle pedal, that collects several data through sensors.
