Splitterchip

SplitterchipAn example of a specified biotechnical application is a set of splitterchips, making eight or sixteen identical reaction samples from one single input. The chips are used for a fully automatic sampling area with proteins on DNA fragments.

Process
In the input a fluid substance 'A' is brought in. Due to capillary forces and gravity (platform equity is very important), the substance will be equally divided over the eight or sixteen sample areas. By bringing in different substances B, C, D etc. in the different sampling areas, reactions can be shown or measured under a microscope.

Specifications

Chip Size 30 x 45 x 2.2 mm
Material Borofloat 33 glass
Top layer powderblasted holes of 1.6 mm
Number of holes 9 or 17
Bottom layer HF etched, 150 µm channels
Bonding direct bonding
Dicing micro dicing

It is possible to make reaction sample outputs from 2 to 384, but with the identical channel length from input to reaction sample the possibilities are limited. Contact us for more information!
