Electrical impedance spectroscopy platform showcased the EISP is the best-in-class all in one solution for electrical microfluidic analysis.

Micronit, Fluigent, Zurich Instruments and Beijing Yanjing Electronics Corporation have entered an agreement for interoperability and promotion of a microfluidic impedance measurement platform consisting of a pump system, microfluidic chip with chipholder , and an impedance measurement instrument. The platform, also called EISP (electrical impedance spectroscopy platform), will be showcased at the coming conference for miniaturized systems in Freiburg, Germany, (uTAS 2013) at the booth of Zurich Instruments.
The EISP was introduced by Fluigent, Micronit, and Zurich Instruments in 2012 as a first-of-its-kind comprehensive platform for electrical impedance analysis in microfluidic applications, such as full blood analysis, single cell detection and characterization, and food sample quality testing. Today, with a growing number of adopters worldwide, the EISP has confirmed its suitability for the market of bio-impedance analysis.
“This level of integration and interoperability is unique for this application. Ensuring simple connectivity to the microfluidic systems is a main concern of our customers, and the EISP provides a standard solution for that”, commented Francois Leblanc, CEO of Fluigent. Furthermore, our purpose built connection system enables a hassle free integration of the EISP system to our microfluidic chips for the user”. While available to researchers in worldwide, the EISP is exclusively available to customers in China from BYEC. The company has a good knowledge of what’s required in its home market. “We receive a lot of inquiries for comprehensive microfluidic solutions which demand turnkey solutions. Customers in China expect that a system is working within only a few hours after installation, and the EISP provides the ideal solution for that”, concluded Wingel Zhang, Marketing Manager at BYEC.
The EISP addresses customers that do not have their own clean room to manufacture integrated microfluidic devices or do not have the skills to implement sophisticated measurement electronics. With chip production turnaround time as short as 4 weeks, the EISP provides additional flexibility to researchers.
