Micronit manufacturing

Micronit’s manufacturing facilities are based in the High Tech Factory facility, located in close proximity to the  University of Twente and High Tech Business park. The facility consist of approximately 1300 square meters of cleanroom space, for manufacturing of integrated microfluidic devices. The cleanroom is equipped with state of the art micromachining equipment such as wet etching baths, mask aligners, bonders, cleaning equipment, annealing furnaces, dicing and scribing machines, lasers and metrology tools.

Head office & microfluidics applications laboratory

Micronit’s head quarter and offices are based on the Business and Science Park. In this building a microfluidics lab is situated with room for microfluidic experiments and microfluidic product development.

Research facilities

Micronit has excellent facilities for research and proof of concept phases of projects using the MESA+ Nanolab. Micronit’s research facilities are located on the campus of the University of Twente, and are part of the MESA+ research institute. MESA+ is one of the world’s largest nanotechnology research institutes; and it is the largest research institute in this field in the Netherlands. A total of 525 researchers work together on cutting-edge research at the highest level. MESA+ NanoLab has extensive laboratory facilities at its disposal:

  • a 1300 m2 fully equipped cleanroom, with a focus on microsystems technology, nanotechnology, CMOS and materials and process engineering;
  • a fully equipped central materials analysis laboratory
  • a number of specialized laboratories for chemical synthesis and analysis,
  • materials research and analysis, and device characterization.

MESA+ NanoLab plays a central part in collaborations with industry. MESA+ has a strong relationship with industry, both through joint research projects with the larger multinational companies, and through a cooperation policy focused on small and medium- sized enterprises.

Micronit makes use of NanoLab equipment for non-daily tasks, e.g. working with silicon or specialistic material analysis.
